Notes for Michael Dickinson
Deed Book A, p. 292, 17 July 1790. JOHN DICKESON and ELLENOR, his mother, to ROBERT DICKESON for £30 sterling, 100 acres in 96 Dist. on 26 Mile Creek, waters of Savannah River, granted to MICHAEL DICKESON, the husband of ELLENOR DICKESON, 5 June 1786, bounded by creek and Edward Camp. Signed: JOHN DICKESON, ELLENOR DICKESON, LYDDIA DICKESON.
: From Pendleton County Court Minutes, 24 Jan 1793..."The State vs Lewis Dickinson and Elizabeth Cornelius. Bastardy. Lewis Dickinson, Robert Dickeson and John Dickeson came into court and aknowledged themselves indebted to the Judges of the said court the sum of 7 lbs to be paid in six months and the costs thereupon." From this we conclude that Robert and John were brothers and that Lewis was either another brother or the son of John. We have identified Robert's sons and Lewis was not one of them.
