George Rives (Reeves) Born 1695.
1735 Took first land grant from Lord Fairfax in Northunberland, Va. He deeded land to his brother John ; He married Ann Doggett daughter of Rev. Benjamin Doggett, Minister of St. Stephen’s Parish in Lancaster Co., Va. They made deeds of gift to their children .

Notes for George Reeves
Written on top the document was "this information sent to me (Marjorie Mefford) by Mrs. Phyllis Mefford, 2303 Linda Rd Valparaiso, ID 46383. Mrs. Mefford, Miss Eunice Vestal of Calif., Mrs Elsie Davis of New Smyrna Beach, Florida (died 1981) and Mrs. Emma Reeves of Mesa, Ariz. researched and assembled this Reeve information with help from many correspondents.
George Reeve and Asa Reeve, Sr.
George Reeve was born 1695 and was a residnet of Northumberland County when he took out his first Lord Fairfax Grant in 1726. He had two of them. The first grant was for 941 acres and the land eventually fell into Prince William County, VA. after the various partitions. His second grant was for 370 acres and he is listed in this one as a resident of Stafford County (before Stafford was partitioned into PWC (Prince William County). The third and final grant was for 55 acres when he was a resident of PWC, 1743.
He had married by 1723 Anne Doggett a dau. of Benjamin Doggett whose will was probated in Lancaster County, VA. Benjamin Doggett's first wife and the mother of Anne was a Betty (unknown last name) so named in the will of Thomas Thompson of Lancaster County. Benjamin Doggett was the son of the Rev. Benjamin Doggett and his wife Mrs. Jane (unknown maiden name) Gerrard who he had married in Suffolk County, England. (See Boxford Parish records.)
Lieber A - page 137/38 - 17 Nov. 1731 - Prince William County deeds George to his dear and well beloved friend, Thomas Davis. . . 113 acres on the branches of Bull Run and the branches of Buckhall. . .
George Reeves parish of Hamilton (before Dettigen Parish was cut from Hamilton - parishes were not contigious with counties) - "my loving brother John Reeves" 313 acres on upperside of Occoquan - out of the grant of 941 acres. 19 April 1732.
In Oct. 24, 1751 George and Ann his wife redeed the deeds of gift to Thomas Davis and the next entry: "My loving sons, Benjamin, John, Moses, Asa" - all deeds of gift to his sons and in the body of one deed "encluding the plantation where William Byrt now lives to my daughter Elizabeth Haggard . . . during her natural life."
George d. by 1774 when his son Asa was named exec. of estate and made out bond for such. Asa and his wife, Sarah (so named in deed records in Mason County and Fleming County)(also on one or two of the marriag bonds) moved to Mason/Fleming County, Ky. ca 1790/ after he had sold his share of his fther's estate in PWC.
