(A History of Louisa County, Va)Peter Garland is said to have been the emigrant of this family, from Wales in 1650, who was of the Sussex England branch of the Garland family. (Henry Duke Councilor his Descendents and his Connections) Note: Peter Garland, immigrant, came to Virginia about 1650. He had at least one son, Edward, who lived in Hanover County, Va (A History of Louisa County, Va, by Malcolm H.
