Notes for Ruth Bradley
From The Life and Times of Judge Junius Hillyer (p. 47): " His wife was just such a woman as such a man ought to have. My recollection of her is very distinct, when she was young, in high health, prospering, respected, and greatly esteemed, and in cheerful good humor, and decidedly handsome. She was rather above medium size, with a very fair and blooming complexion. She was a 'farmer's wife.'"

From 10 Jul 1861 Christian Index (obituary): "Died in the Town of Thomaston, on the 19th of May, 1861, Mrs. Ruth Oglesby, in the 75th year of her age."

"For about 50 years Mrs. Oglesby had been a consistent and devoted member of the Baptist Church. She made the Bible her daily companion and instructor, and with its sacred teachings she was remarkably familiar. She lived a life of piety and usefulness, and hence her death was calm and peaceful. Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
