The Stowe Cemetery near the old ferry crossing has a large number of sandstone markers without names and a few stones with names. This was apparently a common burial site even before Flint Hill. James D. Scott along with his wife and some of his children are buried there, including John Warren Scott and wife Polly Frances Stowe. J.W. Scott was buried there in about 1890, he owned and operated the ferry after his father-in-law Abraham Stowe. There are members of the Phillips family buried there also.124
